On 10th September, members of Church Stretton Library Support Group hired a stall at the town’s weekly market to publicise the campaign and to update the community on the progress of the Judicial Review.
Permission for the case to go to a full hearing was granted last month, since when there has been much legal activity, with both sides alternately supplying the court with statements and responses. This has meant a lot of work and midnight-oil burning for the members of the Support Group Committee, as they had to work to strict deadlines for delivery of their papers.
It was therefore encouraging that, to judge by the response of those who stopped by our market stall, enthusiasm for the campaign to keep the library in the town centre shows no sign of flagging. It is this support that has brought us to where we are and given us all confidence for a successful outcome.
