Monday October 5th was the closing date for final submissions to the Court in our Judicial Review case against Shropshire Council. After several weeks (months even!) of both sides submitting responses-to-responses-to-responses, all the papers are now with the Court and we await notification of a hearing date.
It needs reiterating that it was only last November that we were first made aware of the Council’s plans to move the Library from the town centre to the Academy.
To have launched a campaign from nothing to the brink of a Judicial Review hearing in less than 12months is a tremendous achievement, which could not have happened without the support (both moral and physical) of all those of you who were determined to fight to keep the library in the heart of the town. Whatever the eventual outcome, we can all feel justly proud of what we have achieved.
