The wheels of the law grind exceedingly slow, but then move with indecent haste. 10 weeks after the initial Judicial Review hearing in Birmingham, with no sign of an agreed order between the parties, the Judge has now re-listed the case and requested the legal representatives of both sides to appear before him to explain the delay.
The case has been re-listed for this Monday afternoon (20th) at 2.00 p.m. at Birmingham Civil Justice Centre, Priory Courts, 33 Bull Street B4 6DS.
Many apologies for the short notice, but the news only came through late yesterday evening. It leaves us no time to organise transport as before, but if any supporters are able to make their own way to the hearing, it would certainly help our cause.
Some members of the Steering Committee (myself included) will be there and hopefully, this hearing will see a conclusion to this saga that will satisfy all those of us who have campaigned so hard over the last (almost) 2 years to keep our library in the heart of the community.
