20th January 2015: Library supporters turn out in force as Satnam Rana of BBC West Midlands comes to Church Stretton to cover the story.

29th Jan. 2015: CSLSG organised a stall in the town’s market….
….to gather signatures for a petition against the proposal to move the library.
The petition was signed by over 1200 people.
Library users also weighed their books to show the weight….
….they would be expected to carry on the 1-mile return journey to the proposed new site.
Supporters then set out on a walk to the proposed new site to demonstate the distance and the dangerous road conditions on the route.
4th FEb. 2015: Over 200 people packed the Silvester Horne Institute to try to get answers from Shropshire Councillors and officers in a public meeting organised by CSLSG, after Shropshire Council and Church Stretton Town Council had refused to hold a meeting.
16th Feb 2015: Members of CSLSG present the 1,200 signaturs petition against the library proposals to Shirehall. As there were in excess of 1,000 signatures the Council were obligated to hold a full debate on the petition at which CSLSG would be allowed to speak.
26th Feb 2015: Members od CSLSG at Shirehall for the debateon the petition. In spite of an impassioned speech by a spokesperson for CSLSG and support from some Councillors, the Council elected to take no action on the petition, arguing that the consultation was still on-going.
5th March 2015: Drop-In session organised by CSLSG….
….to showcase our alternative proposals….
….and seek ideas from the public.
12th March 2015….

and gather votes against the library relocation…
in response to Shropshire Council’s 2nd consultation exercise.
27th March 2015: Members of CSLSG lobbied Ludlow MP Philip Dunne at his surgery in Lion Meadow car park on the day that Shropshire Council confirmed their decision to move the library.
Mr. Dunne conversed with us for 30 minutes and listened to our arguments and asked questions.
He was given a copy of our consultation response and promised to write to Shropshire Council about the proposal.
30th April 2015: The public meeting at the URC hall where it was decided to initiate Judicial Review proceedings against Shropshire Council.
The hall was filled to overflowing, with some people having to stand in the car park.
The vote in favour of Judicial Review was unanimous.
12th June 2015: The “bundles” of documentary evidence assembled by the members of CSLSG prior to despatch to the solicitor….
….and packed up and ready to go.
6th February 2016. National Libraries Day at Church Stretton Library.
